Enterprise cloud computing company Salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM] has agreed to acquire Model Metrics, a Chicago-based mobile and social cloud consulting services company.
The transaction is expected to close in salesforce.com’s fiscal fourth quarter ending Jan. 31, 2012, subject to customary closing conditions.
Founded in 2003 by CEO Adam Caplan, Model Metrics has developed business processes to help companies accelerate their adoption of cloud computing, focusing on mobile and call center technology, social enterprise solutions, business process and change management innovation, and custom development. It uses Force.com, Adobe Flex and AIR, Amazon Web Services, Google and the Apple iPhone to create custom applications featuring multimedia-rich user experiences.
Today, Model Metrics has more than 500 customers, including Blue Shield of California, Elkay, Heidrick & Struggles, Hill-Rom Company, Ryerson, and Standard Register.
The company’s team will join salesforce.com’s strategic services organization where they will focus on developing and sharing best practices with partners to accelerate social enterprise success.
