Ventelo, a Fornebu (Oslo), Norway-based data and telecom provider, has been acquired by EQT VI for an equity value of up to NOK 1,800m.
Sellers include BKK, Troms Kraft, Agder Energi, NTE, Eidsiva Bredbånd and Altibox.
The investment, which is still subject to approval from the Norwegian Competition Authority, is expected to help the company further grow and expand its fiber network. In conjunction with the transaction, Gunnar Asp, Industrial Advisor to EQT VI, will take the role as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Led by CEO Stig Herbern, Ventelo is a telecom company with a product offering in broadband, mobile, fixed voice and datacom services. The company currently serves 16,000 customers in the enterprise/wholesale segment and 80,000 customers in the residential segment. It employs approximately 700 people across its headquarters and regional offices in Kristiansand, Bodø and other areas of the country.
