BlablaCar, a marketplace that connects drivers who have empty seats with paying passengers, has raised $10m in funding.
The round was led by Accel Partners, with participation from existing investors ISAI and Cabiedes & Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the growth of its European businesses.
Founded in 2006 and led by co-founders CEO Frederic Mazzella, Francis Nappez and Nicolas Brusson, BlablaCar is a community-based, travel service, which is known as covoiturage.fr in France, comuto.es in Spain, and blablacar.com in the UK.
