Duo Security Inc., an Ann Arbor, MI-based authentication-as-a-service provider, has raised $5m in funding.
Backers include Google Ventures, True Ventures and Resonant Venture Partners.
The company intends to use the capital to expand its team and continue research and development efforts.
Founded by CEO Dug Song, and CTO Jon Oberheide, Duo Security leverages users’ mobile phones to provide a two-factor authentication service, which enables organizations to protect their critical user accounts from being compromised. The company has over 500 customers (including online businesses, education institutions, healthcare providers, and enterprises — such as Tumblr, University of Michigan, Central Ohio Primary Care, and Toyota) with users across 80 countries.
