iHear Medical, a San Leandro, CA-based developer of advanced hearing products for treating a multitude of hearing losses, has completed a $1.8m second round of financing.
The company intends to use the new capital to complete the development of its products.
In addition to the funding, Jonathan Leong, founder of many successful Bay Area businesses including commercial insurance firms serving Pacific Gas & Electricity, City of San Francisco, Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART), the Port of Oakland, and Self Help for the Elderly, has joined the company’s board of directors.
Led by founder and medical device entrepreneur Adnan Shennib, iHear Medical was incubated by the Center for Medical Device Innovations, Inc. (CMDI), which focuses on developing novel platform technologies to create paradigm shifts in healthcare delivery.
Early backers of the company include Aphelion Capital and Highlight Capital.
