Rumgr, a location-based marketplace app for iPhone, officially launched with $500k in seed funding.
Backers include senior executives from Zappos including CEO Tony Hsieh, Fred Mossler, and CTO Arun Rajan along with Andrew Donner, CEO and owner of Resort Gaming Group.
Founded by Former Zappos employees Dylan Bathurst, CEO, Ray Morgan and Alex Coleman, and based in Las Vegas, Rumgr allows users to get paid for unwanted items having them for sale (garage sale) to everyone in the nearby. It also helps users discover items for sale based on their location.
The company has also released a new version of its iPhone app, which includes offers, local mapping and a tool to track of activity and what’s inside the user’s mobile garage.
