Schoology, a NYC-based collaborative learning platform for K-12 classrooms, has raised $1m in equity funding.
Backers include Cempaka Schools and a partnership to jointly promote usage of the platform in school systems throughout Malaysia and Singapore. Cempaka Schools is an elite group of five for-profit, private Malaysian primary and secondary schools, which began using Schoology in 2010.
The funding will be used to expand adoption of the solution throughout the region.
Led by CEO Jeremy Friedman, the company offers a cloud-based collaborative learning platform focused primarily on K-12 classrooms. Schoology features online learning, classroom management, and social networking tools.
