Cloud Sherpas Merges with GlobalOne; Raises $20M from Columbia Capital

-

After merging with New York-based GlobalOne, Cloud Sherpas, an Atlanta-based enterprise-focused Cloud Service Provider, has received a $20m investment from Columbia Capital.

Columbia Capital already injected $15m into GlobalOne (read here) last year.

The company intends to use the capital to extend its reach geographically, further develop vertical market solutions, and continue to expand its portfolio of cloud-based applications.

Following the merge, David Northington, who was CEO at GlobalOne, will be CEO of Cloud Sherpas. Former Cloud Sherpas CEO Douglas Shepard will be president of the company’s Google business unit.

Cloud Sherpas, which has nearly 300 employees in offices in Atlanta, Brisbane, Chicago, Manila, New York, San Francisco, Sydney and Wellington, aims to help mid-size and large enterprises transition into the cloud with CRM, social business services, custom and mobile application development, and managed services. It is a Google Enterprise and salesforce.com partner.
