Drawn to Scale, a San Francisco, California-based developer of a database for real-time Big Data, has raised $925k in initial funding.
The round was led by RTP Ventures, with participation from IA Ventures and SK Ventures.
Previously the company was self-funded.
The company intends to use the funding to accelerate the roll out of Spire, which is built on Hadoop and features massive scalability, real-time queries, SQL and simplified management.
Spire, which is currently in private beta, can be used in web applications, sentiment analysis, machine-to-machine, social gaming, smart-grid, machine learning, business intelligence, web analytics, etc.
Drawn to Scale was founded in 2010 by CEO Bradford Stephens.
