MiaSole, a Santa Clara, California-based manufacturer of copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) thin-film photovoltaic solar panels, has raised $55m in funding.
Backers weren’t undisclosed.
The company intends to use the capital to build its commercial infrastructure with both traditional glass-on-glass and flexible products.
Led by CEO John Carrington, MiaSole aims to establish CIGS as a low-cost, high efficiency thin-film solar panels in the world. To date, it has installed over 55MW of solar modules in a wide range of global projects acrossNorth America, Europe and Asia.
