Zurmont Madison Private Equity L.P. has acquired a 55% stake in AKAtech Produktions- und Handels GmbH, an Frankenmarkt, Austria-based specialist in high-quality electromechanical assembly and the manufacture of complex wiring harnesses.
The amount of the transaction, which is is subject to approval by the local competition authorities, was not disclosed.
With the investment, the company will receive the resource to continue to grow.
Founded in 2001 and led by Michael Farthofer, AKAtech assembles semi-finished goods, as well as complete systems and devices, for customers all over the world. Its expertise in electromechanical production is primarily used for applications in the fields of mechatronics and medical technology. The company, which is certified in accordance with several international standards, currently employs around 350 people at three production facilities in Austria and Slovakia and generated sales of more than €30m in 2011.
