First Active Media Receives £375K in Funding

First Active Media Limited, an Ashton-in-Makerfield-based company that operates a female fashion and lifestyle website (http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/), has received a total of £375k in funding.

The North West Fund for Digital & Creative, managed by AXM Venture Capital Limited, has made a £350,000 equity investment alongside a further £25,000 of equity from new management. David Sharrock, former chief executive of MEN Media, has joined the company as non-executive chairman; Martin Boddy, a veteran in the digital marketing sector, has been appointed as a non-executive director.

Led by Managing director Stephen Reay, the company intends to use the funding to further develop the web site, which currently has 2m monthly unique visitors, further and its affiliate programme, and hire additional sales and marketing staff.
