Doughty Hanson to Acquire Eurofiber

-

Private equity firm Doughty Hanson & Co. is to acquire Eurofiber, the owner of a large independent fiber network in the Netherlands, from Reggeborgh.

Following the transaction, which is subject to the usual regulatory requirements and is expected to close in May 2012, Reggeborgh, an investment vehicle of the Wessels family, will continue to hold a significant minority stake in Eurofiber.

Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Maarssen in the Netherlands, Eurofiber trasports over more than 25% of Dutch internet traffic and 50% of Dutch mobile traffic, waterways and electricity management information. The company’s network spans over 12,000km and connects over 4,500 unique locations.
It is used by telecom providers, system integrators and service providers, utilities, office locations and municipalities.

Led by CEO Alex Goldblum, Eurofiber intends to leverage Doughty Hanson’s experience and resource to build its customer base, create jobs and successfully grow the business.
