E-Band Communications Corporation, a San Diego, California-based manufacturer of high performance 80 GHz wireless backhaul solutions for 4G/LTE networks, has secured funding.
Backers and the amount were not disclosed.
The company intends to use the capital to complete development of its “small cell” wireless backhaul system.
Led by CEO Sam Smookler, E-Band designs and manufactures high performance multi-gigabit capacity wireless backhaul systems based on 70->80 GHz Millimeter-wave technology, which are used by leading carriers, businesses and government agencies in 3G/4G, LTE, mobile backhaul, military and private networks.
Existing investors in the company include Avalon Ventures, Hercules Technology Growth Capital (NASDAQ: HTGC), Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSC:S), Reliance ADA Group, ADC Telecommunications (NASDAQ: ADCT), Investec, Express Ventures, and OpenAir Ventures.
