Independa, a San Diego-based provider of Telehealth solutions that enhance independence for older adults, has raised an additional $750k in convertible note funding.
Backers include Miramar Venture Partners and City Hill Ventures, which already invested in the $1.6m in seed-round venture capital funding the company announced last September.
Independa intends to use the funds to expand sales, support and engineering operations, as well as marketing efforts aimed at broadening its customer base.
Led by CEO Kian Saneii, the company offers integrated technology-enabled independent-living solutions for the elderly. Its services, which operate across telephones, tablets, touchscreen computers and TVs, include medication and appointment reminders, support for activities of daily living, comprehensive social engagement benefits, and wireless health and safety monitoring.
