Software engineer, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist Marc Andreessen (40) has been included in “The 100 Most Influential People in the World” Time’s list (read here).
Known as co-author of Mosaic, the first widely-used web browser and co-founder of Netscape Communications Corporation, Andreessen is now the founding partner of Menlo Park-based venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, along with his longtime business partner Ben Horowitz.
Created in July 2009, Andreessen Horowitz has raised approximately $2.7bn to date, partly reinvested in high-profile companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Zynga and Groupon, as well as the new star Instagram, which is to be acquired by Facebook for $1bn (read here).
