Chalkable, an app store for school and a platform to make those apps work, has joined the Mountain View-based 500 Startups Accelerator.
During the program, the company will receive up top $100k in funding, access to a world class network of designers and mentors, and a creative workspace.
Founded by Michael Levy, Zoli Honig in NYC, Chalkable operates an app store that lists the best education apps from across the web. It allows users to browse apps by category, such as History, Math, Science, and more and click to buy them. The Chalkable platform is a basic set of tools (including Feed, Calendar, Grading, Messaging, etc.), which allow students, teachers, admins, and parents to easily use those apps.
