Cognovant Inc., a Kansas City, MO-based consumer health company specializing in mobile personal health record technology, has completed a seed round of funding.
The amount was not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funding to develop and introduce (into the Android and iOS markets) its initial product – the PocketHealth™ mPHR application (http://www.PocketHealthPHR.com), an an easy-to-use empowerment tool for users who have to manage multiple medications or medical conditions, including parents who must keep track of their kids’ immunizations, and caregivers who manage appointments.
PocketHealth Essentials will be available for free this spring. It will include the option for a paid upgrade to the PocketHealth PHR for individuals, which supports more complex health issues, and PocketHealth Family which tracks multiple individuals.
The company is led by President and CEO Joe Ketcherside, and Chief Strategy Officer Stan Pestotnik.
