Astute Networks, Inc., a San Diego, CA-based provider of networked Flash solutions for accelerating virtualized server, desktop, and cloud computing environments, has closed a $12m Series B funding.
The round was led by Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (SVIC), with participation from existing investors Tallwood Venture Capital and Narra Venture Capital, and new investors Ayala Capital, ICCP Venture Partners, and TIFF (The Investment Fund for Foundations).
The company intends to use the funding to further expand global sales, marketing, channel development, and support efforts, as well as ongoing innovation of its patented DataPump Engine™, Networked Performance Flash, and related technologies found in its ViSX family of flash optimized appliances.
Led by CEO Steve Topper, Astute Networks provides patented DataPump Engine™ and Networked Performance Flash™ architecture designed to deliver high performance, low power solutions that accelerate virtual machine and application performance on major virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer, and Red Hat RHEV.
