Embotics Corporation, an Ottawa, Canada-based provider of virtualization and private cloud management solutions, has closed an $8.4m equity financing.
Backers include Covington Fund II Inc., and VentureLink LP, which invested $2.5m each, with the remainder of the funds coming from other private investors.
The company intends to use the funding to accelerate global sales and marketing efforts, as well as to hire more software engineers.
Led by CEO Jay Litkey, Embotics provides mid-sized to large IT organizations with a simplified cloud management platform (CMP) that delivers infrastructure-as-a-service. Embotics V-Commander® continuously monitors the virtual data center to optimize the automation, deployment and configuration of IT services. Customers include Bell, Deloitte, Cisco, CSC, Dutch Ministry of Defence, MITRE and several universities and public sector departments.
