GaN Systems Inc., an Ottawa, Canada-based developer of gallium nitride power switching semiconductors, has closed a Series B financing.
The amount was not disclosed.
Backers include Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital and RockPort Capital.
Led by Girvan Patterson, CEO, GaN Systems provides power switching semiconductors based on its Cool Switching(TM) platform. The company, which raised its Series A round in 2011 (read here), intends to use the funding to accelerate commercialization of the gallium nitride power devices that it has developed on its technology platform.
