Mobile Posse, a McLean, VA-based provider of mobile home screen messaging and consumer insights, has closed a $5m Series C funding.
The round was led by new Investor Harbert Venture Partners, with participation from Softbank Capital, Court Square Ventures, Columbia Capital, as well as individual investors.
Founded in 2005 and led by CEO Jon Jackson, Mobile Posse, provides a platform that allows wireless carriers and advertisers to proactively engage consumers with graphical interactive messages and surveys via the home screen of mobile phones. Consumers opt–in to the free service to receive helpful and timely information, such as weather forecasts and local gas prices, along with offers from national and local advertisers.
The company also has offices in New York and San Francisco.
