Panzura, a San Jose, CA-based provider of global cloud storage solutions, has closed a $15m Series C funding.
The round was led by Opus Capital, with participation from its existing investors Matrix Ventures, Khosla Ventures and Chevron Technology Ventures.
In conjunction with the funding, Opus Capital General Partner Carl Showalter will join Panzura’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to scale its US-based marketing, sales and engineering operations, establish an international sales presence, expand its channel ecosystem and research and product development, as well as explore joint development projects with strategic partners.
Founded in 2008 by CEO Randy Chou and CTO John Taylor, Panzura offers a cloud-integrated storage system designed to deliver enterprise-class solutions, with network attached storage (NAS) functionality, native cloud support, a globally distributed file system, built-in enterprise security and data protection.
The company recently updated its flagship product, the Panzura Global Cloud Storage System, which included the third generation release of its Panzura operating system (PZOS3) and a newly enhanced version of its Quicksilver Cloud Storage Controller.
