Rethink Robotics (formerly know as Heartland Robotics), a Boston, Massachusetts-based developer of a new class of manufacturing robots, has raised $30m in Series C financing.
The round was led by Sigma Partners, with participation from existing investors Charles River Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, Sigma Partners, and Bezos Expeditions, the personal investment company of Jeff Bezos, as well as a new investor, Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
The company intends to use the funds to launch its new robot product, begin development of new product lines, and expand sales, marketing, and services operations.
Founded by Rodney Brooks and led by president and CEO Scott Eckert, Rethink Robotics is developing a new generation of robots to improve productivity in manufacturing environments.
