Egnyte, a Mountain View, California-based provider of cloud and hybrid cloud file sharing solutions for businesses, has closed a $16m Series C financing.
The round was led by Google Ventures, with participation from existing investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) and Polaris Venture Partners.
The company intends to use the funding to expand its sales and marketing efforts as well as further the development of hybrid cloud and next generation cloud technologies.
In conjunction with the funding, Karim Faris, Partner at Google Ventures, will join Egnyte’s board.
Founded in 2007 and led by Vineet Jain, CEO, the company provides an HybridCloud file server, which alllows users to store, share, access and backup files, while IT has the centralized administration and control to enforce business policies.
