Phase Focus Raises £3.2M in Equity Funding

-

Phase Focus, a Sheffield, UK-based developer and supplier of nanotech imaging and microscopy technology, recently raised £3.2m in equity funding.

The round was led by Ombu Group, which made a £3m investment with participation from Fusion IP (AIM: FIP), which committed £220k and now owns a 34% shareholding.

The company intends to use the funding to increase adoption of its technology.

Led by Dr. Ian Pykett, CEO, Phase Focus has developed the Phase Focus Virtual Lens®, a technology that transfers the task of image creation from a lens to a computer programme. It can either be integrated inside existing microscopes or used as the basis for a range of next-generation microscopy products.
The Virtual Lens is already being used in a number of applications, such as commercial contact lens measurement and laboratory based cell analysis.
