Hopper, a Cambridge, MA-based travel database, has raised $12m in funding.
The round was led by OMERS Ventures, with participation from Brightspark Ventures and Atlas Venture.
In conjunction with the funding, Derek Smyth of OMERS Ventures will join Hopper’s board of directors.
Led by Frederic Lalonde, CEO, Hopper uses big data and algorithms for trip planning and making travel search smarter. It has already crawled more than half a billion pages of travel data, with plans to double that by the end of the year.
