CENX, Inc., a Winnetka, IL-based provider of Carrier Ethernet interconnect systems and services, has received an equity investment of undisclosed amount from Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC).
Ericsson adds to Verizon Investments LLC, Mesirow Financial Private Equity Inc., DCM, Highland Capital Partners, and Wasatch, which invested in the company in June 2012 (read here).
Co-Founded by Chen and EVP Ron Gavillet, CENX offers Carrier Ethernet Interconnect Systems & Services that enable wireless and wire-line operators to build, manage and optimize their Ethernet/IP networks cost-effectively for 4G mobile backhaul and enterprise access.
According to CENX’ Co-Founder & President Nan Chen, the investment accelerates the two companies’ existing joint efforts and opens the door to rapid global expansion together.
