Duck Duck Moose, a San Mateo, CA-based creator of educational apps for children, has raised $7m in Series A venture funding.
The round was led by Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Stanford University.
The company intends to use the funding to grow its family of apps, expand the executive team, and add illustrators, animators and engineers (http://www.duckduckmoosedesign.com/our-story/careers/).
Founded in 2008 by Caroline Hu Flexer, Nicci Gabriel and Michael Flexer, Duck Duck Moose creates educational apps for children. The company has designed and built 14 apps including Wheels on the Bus, Trucks HD, Princess Fairy Tale Maker, and Superhero Comic Book Maker.
