Pixowl, a San Francisco, CA-based mobile game company, has secured $1.2m in seed funding.
Backers include 500 Startups, Kima Ventures, Pymar Venture, Art.com founder Joshua Chodniewicz, and tech entrepreneurs Martin Varsavsky and Fabrice Grinda.
The company intends to use the funding for developing “The Grub” franchise, with additional mobile games, toys, comic books, etc.
Founded in 2011 by Arthur Madrid, CEO, Pixowl concepts, develops and publishes mobile games that intergrates comic book art and character-driven storylines. Titles include iOS games Doodle Grub, Safari Party and The Sandox. The company has development studios in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
