SkyDox, a London, UK-based provider of cloud-enabled file sharing, synchronization and collaboration tools, has merged with Workshare, a provider of document collaboration software.
The merger, which is supported by a £20m growth equity and venture capital investment provided by Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) and Business Growth Fund (BGF), will allow the combined company to launch a policy-based enterprise collaboration platform, by adding cloud-enabled file sharing, synchronization, storage and search features to Workshare’s software.
Following the transaction, SkyDox’s CEO Anthony Foy will become CEO of the joint company; Scott Smull – the former CEO of Workshare – will continue to work with Workshare and will have multiple executive responsibilities as part of the Executive Integration Team; Barrie Hadfield – who co-founded Workshare and architected the current solution – has been appointed CTO.
