Little Bird, a Portland, Oregon-based startup that provides tools to discover topical influencers online, has raised $1m in angel funding.
The round was led by Mark Cuban‘s Radical Investments, with participation from Howard Lindzon’s Social Leverage Group, Hubspot co-founder Dharmesh Shah, early Twitter lead engineer Blaine Cook, Jay Baer, Jonathan Siegel, Matt Haughey and Henry Copeland.
Founded in 2011 by CEO Marshall Kirkpatrick, Little Bird offers tools that help users discover and engage with influencers for any topic by leveraging the social graph and analyzing data from Twitter, LinkedIn and blogs.
Users can also track their progress engaging in any community, and are able to quickly identify the most important content and conversations in that group each week.
In the coming months, the company will expand its sources to Google+, academic research citations and other sources of structured social data.
Little Bir launched its private beta with individuals and business customers following a pilot with two dozen enterprise customers.
