Branding Brand, a Pittsburgh, PA-based mobile commerce platform, has raised $7.5m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Insight Venture Partners, with participation from CrunchFund and Eastern Advisors.
The company plans to use the capital to scale customer acquisition, technology development, and operations.
Founded in 2008 by three friends from Carnegie Mellon University, including Chris Mason, CEO, Branding Brand operates a mobile platform that allows brands to extend their reach via optimized experiences for smartphones, tablets, and in-store.
It is used by major retailers, including American Eagle Outfitters, Anthropologie, The Children’s Place, Costco, Crate & Barrel, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Drugstore.com, Eastern Mountain Sports, GNC, Ralph Lauren , Sephora, Steve Madden , Timberland, Tumi, and West Marine.
