DataStax, a San Mateo, CA-based provider of the open source database management system Apache Cassandra, has raised a $25m in Series C funding.
The round was led by Meritech Capital Partners, with participation from existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners and Crosslink Capital.
The company, which has raised $38.7m to date, intends to use the capital to further enhance its Big Data platform and while increasing global customer acquisition.
Led by Billy Bosworth, CEO, DataStax provides Big Data platform Apache Cassandra™, which uses Cassandra, Solr™ and Hadoop™ technologies to enable continuous availability, deep analytics, real-time search and high-velocity throughput needed in today’s business environment.
Customers include Netflix, Pearson Education, and Constant Contact, among others.
