ScaleBase, a Newton, MA-based database virtualization company, has raised $10.5m in Series B funding.
The round was co-led by Bain Capital Ventures, and Ascent Venture Partner, with participation from existing investor Cedar Fund.

The company serves acustomers in a wide range of industries including online gaming companies, digital media providers, social networks and enterprises.
It is also an authorized Amazon and Oracle Partner.
In conjunction with the funding, Ben Nye, managing director at Bain Capital Ventures, and Geoff Oblak, general partner at Ascent Venture Partners, will join Motti Vaknin, partner at Cedar Fund, on ScaleBase’s board of directors.
