SkimaTalk, Inc., a Berkeley, CA-based education startup, has raised a $100k in funding from Recruit Strategic Partners, Inc.
The company intends to use the capital to develop its learning site.
Launched in April 2012 by Koji Shimizu, SkimaTalk provides a social language-learning platform designed to empower individuals to share language skills globally through one-on-one online video conversations.
Learners can purchase 25-minute time slots of teachers for $9 with no membership or monthly fees.
