VitaPortal, a Russian provider of online and mobile health solutions, has closed a $2m Series A funding.
The round was led by Prostor Capital, with participation from angel investor Esther Dyson.
Founded by Azamat Ulbashev, CEO, along with Fastlane Ventures, VitaPortal provides online and mobile tools for healthy living, as well as content for Russian-speaking physicians. All published materials and tools undergo a medical review process conducted by certified physicians.
The company intends to use the capital to continue to develop user-profile-based personalization technology, including online health management tools and a physician and hospital ranking system, which aims to support people in making informed choices about their own healthcare.
VitaPortal now offers more than 30 health measurement and personalization tools, which have been used by more than 1 million people during the past six months.
