Vodafone Italia recently launched Xone, a Milan-based startup accelerator.
Every participating startup will work side by side with an ad-hoc team to offer its services on Vodafone distribution channels, from shops to online properties and marketing campaigns, leveraging the company’s commercial know-how and technical enablers. The startups are hosted in a special area in the Vodafone Village, in Milan (located at 240 Via Lorenteggio, a modern 67,000 m2ecosustainable complex that houses around 3,000 employees).
The companies will be recruited through Xone’s partner venture capital firms: for early/seed stage startuppers who need support to develop an idea/prototype, the partner is Digital Magics; for companies in a more advanced phase, venture capital partners are 360 Capital Partners, Innogest, and TLcom Capital.
Vodafone xone in Italy is part of a larger network starting from the Silicon Valley-based Vodafone xone centre set up in September 2011.
