According to reports, Blackford Analysis, an Edinburgh, Scotland, UK-based developer of software for the medical sector, has raised £800k in seed funding.
Basckers include Scottish Enterprise and Archangels Informal Investment.
The company intends to use the capital to expand in the UK and US.
Led by CEO Dr. Ben Panter, Blackford Analysis provides medical imaging software that delivers instant anatomical alignment of volumetric data studies. Its technology works in real-time and has light hardware requirements. Originally developed for spectral analysis in astrophysics, it is capable of processing hyperspectral and image data in real-time, on the imaging platform.
A spin-out of Edinburgh University, the company also undertakes software design and consultancy work for the oil and gas, and defence industries.
