Cubie Raises $1.1M in Seed Funding

According to reports, Cubie, a Taiwanese free mobile service that allows users to create and share drawings, photos, video, and voice messages while chatting with friends, has raised $1.1m in seed funding.

Backers include B Dash Ventures, NTT Investment Partners, BIGLOBE Capital, Gumi Ventures, Pinehurst, 500 Startups and Andrew Chen.

Launched in late March 2012 by husband and wife duo Yenwen Feng and Cjin Cheng, Cubie has been downloaded 4 million times in 6 months, gaining traction in South East Asia, Middle East, and Japan. The company, which joined the latest batch of 500 Startup accelerator program (read here), intends to use the capital to expand in the USA and Japan.
