LocBox Raises $5.1M in Series A Funding

LocBox, a San Francisco, CA-based startup that provides local businesses with a multi-channel marketing platform, has raised $5.1m in Series A funding.

Backers include InterWest Partners, Accel Partners, Google Ventures500Startups, Anand Rajaraman, Venky Harinarayan, Deep Nishar, Manyam Mallela, and Amar Chokhawala.

The company intends to use the capital to accelerate product development and customer acquisition.

In conjunction with the funding, Keval Desai, formerly a Google Product Director and now Partner at InterWest Partners, will join LocBox’s Board of Directors.

Led by CEO Saumil Mehta, LocBox CTO Sailesh Ramakrishnan, VP of Sales and Operations Ariel Myers, LocBox provides local businesses with a multi-channel marketing platform to run targeted campaigns on Email, Facebook, Twitter, SMS – all from one centralized dashboard. Launched last year, the company currently manages more than 1.5 million emails, 200k Facebook Fans and has run nearly 2,000 campaigns on behalf of its nationwide customer base.
