SnapVolumes, Inc., a Los Altos, California-based newly formed company focused on application lifecycle management in virtual, cloud and physical environments, has emerged from stealth with $2.3m angel funding.
Backers include TiE Angels of Silicon Valley, Kumar Malavalli, Sanjog Gad, and Rob Thomas, as well as executives from Symantec, EMC, Citrix, and TIBCO.
Founded in early 2011 by CTO Matthew Conover, Vice President of Products/Marketing Shaun Coleman and Chief Scientist Matthieu Suiche, and led by CEO Raj Parekh, SnapVolumes provides IT with enterprise application life-cycle management solutions designed to take advantage of virtualization, supports legacy applications, while eliminating the need for re-architecting or rewriting existing software, and working with existing management solutions. It supports all server, desktop and custom/legacy applications.
The SnapVolumes Board of Directors include:
– Henrik Rosendahl, successful serial entrepreneur and CEO of Thinstall (acquired by VMware in 2008);
– Klaus Oestermann, Group VP, GM of Cloud Networking at Citrix Systems; and,
– Prashant Shah, former Managing Director at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners.
