TouristEye, a Madrid, Spain based travel planner application for the web and mobile devices, has raised €250k in a second funding.
Backers include Plug and Play, Mountain View-based 500 Startups, where the company is currently “accelerated”, Gonzalo Ruiz, Walter Kobylansky, José Javier López and José María Torroja.
Founded in 2009 by Ariel Cámus and Javier Fernández Escribano, TouristEye offers an offline travel guide that learns from users and their friends. It includes trip planner, transport maps, personalized recommendations, trip journal, offline maps, and info for more than 10,000 destinations. According to reports, TouristEye counts 200.000 subscribers and more than 5.000 users a day.
The app is available for iPhone and Android.
The company had raised its €125k first financing in 2011.
