Trulioo, a Vancouver, Canada-based identity verification startup, has raised $2m in seed funding.
Backers include Blumberg Capital and new CTO Andrew Nash (former Google’s Identity Chief).
Led by Founder and CEO Stephen Ufford, Trulioo has released in beta a free SaaS product, “ProfilePlus”, which aims to help websites that already utilize Facebook Connect detect fake accounts.
By leveraging the company’s patented algorithms, it analyzes a user’s Facebook account and provides a score indicating how much time it would take to create the account.
Trulioo is also beta testing the API; developers can request an invitation to participate. The service supports Facebook now with plans for other social networks including Linkedin and Twitter added early next year.
