Cipher Surgical, a Coventry, UK-based medical device company, has raised £650k in funding.
Backers include existing investors and a syndicate of med tech and London Business Angels (£130k).
The company intends to use the capital for development completion and product enhancements to launch in the UK in 2012 and for multiple market international launches during 2013.
Led by Andrew Newell, managing director, Cipher Surgical is commercializing an innovative medical device for maintaining a clear distal window of the laparoscope during an operative procedure(the OpClear). The company is based at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Venture Centre in Coventry.
