DigiCert, Inc., a Lindon, Utah-based provider of enterprise security solutions, has received a majority investment from growth private equity firm TA Associates.
The amount and the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2003 and led by Nicholas Hales, CEO, and Ryan Woodley, CFO and COO, DigiCert provides online authentication and encryption services primarily through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificates* to companies, government agencies, financial institutions, and educational and medical institutions worldwide.
The company serves more than 60,000 clients in 176 countries.
In conjunction with the investment, Jason P. Werlin, a Principal at TA Associates, and A. Bruce Johnston, a Managing Director at TA Associates, will join DigiCert’s Board of Directors.
