Kapow Events, a Chicago, IL-based online marketplace for company events, has closed an additional $900k in Series A funding.
The round was led by I2A Fund and INCISENT Labs, with participation from FireStarter Fund and Brian Hand.
This funding, which builds on $700k committed in June 2012 (read here) to bring the total Series A financing to $1.6m, will allow the company to continue to develop its technology platform.
Led by Marc Halpin, CEO, Kapow Events provides an event marketplace where business professionals responsible for planning team building, client entertainment and company events can get access to exclusive promotions, venues, ideas and custom event development. Launched in May of 2011, the company has grown to service over 1,200 client members including more than 50 of Chicago’s largest companies.
