FarmLogs, an Ann Arbor, Michigan-based farm management software company for row crop farming, raised $1m in seed funding.
The round was co-led by Huron River Ventures and Hyde Park Venture Partners, with participation from Hyde Park Angels, Silicon Badia Ventures, First-Step Fund and other angel investors.
The company intends to use the capital to expand its team and to further develop its mobile applications in time for the 2013 planting season.
Founded in 2011 by CEO Jesse Vollmar and CTO Brad Koch, FarmLogs provides row crop farmers (corn, soybeans, wheat, etc.) with a solution to plan, manage and analyze operations via smartphone or web browser. A dashboard gives users a daily snapshot of a farm’s performance, access to maps, calendars, weather conditions, market prices and relevant news.
The company is an alum of the winter 2012 batch of Y Combinator.
