ReliOn, a Spokane, WA-based provider of fuel cell solutions for backup power and grid-support applications, received a strategic investment from Cummins Inc. (NYSE:CMI).
The amount of the trasaction was not revealed.
Cummins, a corporation that designs, manufactures, distributes and services engines and related engine related technologies, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission solutions and electrical power generation systems, will help ReliOn expand globally.
In conjunction with the investment, Cummins will take a seat on the company’s board of directors.
Led by CEO Gary Flood, ReliOn develops and markets modular fuel cell products for critical backup power applications. The company’s products are tested or certified to stringent standards from CSA, UL, CE, Telcordia NEBS and China TTL Labs. ReliOn fuel cells…simply powerful.
