Robotoki Inc., a Los Angeles, CA-based game development studio, has received a strategic investment from NEXON Co., (3659.TO), a Tokyo, Japan-based developer of free-to-play online games.
The amount of the financing remained undisclosed.
For NEXON, the investment represents a step in the direction of coordinating efforts in developing future games based on Robotoki’s development of multi-screen, cross-platform gameplay.
Founded in April 2012 by Robert Bowling, former Creative Strategist of the Call of Duty franchise, Robotoki will release Human Element, a survival game that takes place after a zombie apocalypse, in the fourth quarter of 2015 on next-generation consoles, PC and mobile, including iOS and Android.
